Troop Number Question
The organization that I belong to has just started a girl Troop in December. Against our wishes, we were forced to change the 1 to 9 on the unit number for the girl Troop. It is my understanding that they can be linked with the same number, but our Council chose to go a different route. To satisfy us, we were informed that it would be okay to still use the organization number that belongs to our Pack and boy Troop on the uniform and branded Class B materials. So we did just that. We spent a lot of money on materials and the girls feel as if they belong to our larger organization. We feel that the change will take that away from them. Not to mention that National policy is to have them linked.
Multilevel Girl Scout Troop Numeral
A recent Associated Press article notes that national membership in the Girl Scouts has fallen 27 percent from a peak of 3. Why have nearly one million youth and adult members left in the last decade? The Girl Scouts organization has a form and a requirement for everything, and in an era of crazy busy family life, parents do not have time for this. When it comes crunch time, we will choose the simpler option, like coaching a soccer team of daisy pickers.

Hi all - I lead 2 troops and both have the majority bridging. For each B to J and D to B , there is only 1 girl remaining at the younger level. For over a century, Girl Scouts have proudly worn distinctive uniforms that symbolize the high ideals for which Girl Scouting stands. Uniforms provide unity among Girl Scouts and a feeling of belonging to a worldwide sisterhood. This article for Senior-level troop leaders explains key patches, pins, insignia, and their placement on the Senior uniform. Girl Scout Seniors have the option of a khaki sash or vest keep in mind that this uniform will be used for the rest of their girl membership years with Girl Scouts. Their higher-level badges and pins will move up with them and accumulate on this uniform.
The first troop in a council was Troop 1, the second was Troop 2 and so on. Linked troops have the same troop number but are actually separate troops. So they picked 8, for the eighth letter of the alphabet, and a 0 to represent the O. Thus, was born. Scouts BSA Troop , according to troop legend, selected its number to match the locker combination of one of its members.
